Client:

Our client, one of the top 10 largest technology companies in the world, partnered with Progression Search to rebuild their Singapore-based inside sales hub. This client houses a large multilingual digital sales team with DEI whose remit is to grow mid-market revenue across ASEAN and Korea.


1. Hiring Objective: 

To hire a team of Korean-speaking top performing Digital Sales Reps based in Singapore to cover mid-market customers in Korea.


2. Challenges:

In order to make sure we consider every potential candidate with DEI considerations as well as keeping in check they represent the top 20% of the talent pool from a capability perspective, the search process is very data intensive. Not to mention it is a tough search to only hire driven digital salespeople with a great track record within tech space within a certain budget that is roughly 60 to 65% percentile.


The various stringent requirements made the applicable talent pool very small; less than 130 people. With tighter immigration rules from the COVID situation, the pool has dwindled even further as a portion of the candidates had returned home to Korea. 


Lastly the talent pool is largely skewed towards a certain made-up, hence more angles of search are needed to make sure the talent submission is well represented across various considerations.

Results 

The mapping and analysis of the talent pool, while tedious to put together, made the qualification of the candidates much clearer. There were recalibrations where we helped our client expand the talent pool by opening up to another potential pool that the client is happy to train. The data also makes it clear for the hiring team to make decisions on whether they should move forward with the existing slate of candidates instead of wasting time on unsuitable ones out there. 


The process took 3 months to hire, with a 100% shortlist rate.
