Client Summary

Our client is the world’s largest technology distributor and the only IT distributor with operations globally. They are hiring a position of APAC Business Development Manager based in Singapore, reporting to the Manager of Global Business Solutions APAC.

Responsibilities

This position will be required to develop current unattended business and to onboard opportunities with new APAC customers for our distribution business. The function involves coordination across all APAC countries, management of commercial agreements and contract negotiations, working with local support teams, and supporting customer portfolios.

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of current and existing APAC/Global customers, developing and expanding our business with them
  • Able to sell the full suite of IM services, i.e. Technology Solutions, Cloud, Lifecycle Services, and Customer Fulfillment Services
  • Develop new APAC wide customers and opportunities
  • Use knowledge of APAC customers and GST/VAT policies to aid in APAC and Global deals and customer support
  • Relationship management – attendance to Business Reviews, SLA adherence and Operational Support

Requirements

  • At least 4 years in a regional sales or business development function with international customer and key account experience
  • Have the ability to communicate with a high standard of verbal clarity, up to senior levels, as well as having strong questioning and listening skills
  • Able to deal effectively with challenging situations and aim to secure a win/win outcome. Use persuading and influencing skills to overcome objections and present value added propositions
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and take initiative
  • Possess strong organizational and analytical skills: effective time management, balancing reactive and proactive activities in a high-volume environment
  • Able to work within a team to maintain and improve strong working relationships which facilitate the highest standards of customer service and productivity
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Contract Management experience is a plus
  • Languages: English additional language(s) is a plus
  • Ability to travel: travel percentage is 30% at minimum

Good to have

  • Professional experience in regional sales and/or business development
  • Academic/Educational Background: Bachelor degree or above
