CLIENT SUMMARY

Our client is one of the largest Singaporean System Integrator and they are looking for a Chief of Operations to be responsible for assisting the CEO to lead the development and execution of the Company’s long term strategy with a view to create and enhance shareholder value. The COO’s leadership role also entails being responsible for all day-to-day management decisions and for implementing the Company’s long and short term plans;

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and drive daily operations of the company and the work of key executives in Sales and Business Development, Corporate IT, Quality Assurance and Service Delivery, Accounts and Finance Business Units
  • Report to the CEO in a timely and upfront manner of the conduct of the day-to-day operations of the Business Units towards the achievement of its established goals and of all material deviations from the goals or objectives and policies established;
  • Work closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to prepare tender bids, shape innovation and product roadmap, enhance customer experience and deliver quality projects and services on time;
  • Ensure that the structure of the Business Units are able to conduct the business operations to meet the company’s mission;
  • Assess the principal risks of the Business Units and to ensure that these risks are being monitored and managed;
  • Ensure that expenditures of the Business Units are within the authorized annual budget of the Company;
  • Review and assess the current processes of the Business Units on a continual basis to identify opportunities for improvements and to adapt where necessary to support new business requirements;
  • Ensure that the Business Units’ operations comply with the regulatory requirements stipulated by the various authorities;
  • Ensure the integrity of all public disclosure by the Business Units in accordance with Company’s disclosure policy and statutory requirements;
  • Ensure that the Business Units maintains high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility;
  • Ensure the Business Units are appropriately organized and staffed and to have the authority to hire and terminate staff as necessary to enable it to achieve the approved strategy;
  • Abide by specific internally established control systems and authorities, to lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and the Company’s standards and policies, including its environmental, safety and health policies;
  • Communicate effectively with shareholders, employees, Government authorities, other stakeholders and the public;
  • Act as a liaison between management and the Board;
  • Sit on committees of the Board where appropriate as determined by the Board;
  • As and when directed by the CEO, to consult with the board to develop Board agendas;
  • Ensure that the Board Directors are properly informed and that sufficient information is provided to the Board to enable the Board Directors to form appropriate judgments

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Masters in Engineering, IT or Business Management
  • 8-15 years working experience in IT industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management position
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning
  • Sound knowledge in business management with demonstrated experience in managing the P&L of a business unit
  • Experienced and is familiar with Singapore Government projects
  • Strong network of contacts within the IT industry in Singapore
  • Passionate about technology and driving innovations to game-change customers’ operations
  • Familiar with operational requirements of homeland security agencies in Singapore
  • Sound knowledge in business management with demonstrated experience in managing the P&L of a business unit
  • Familiar with operational requirements of homeland security agencies in Singapore Leadership qualities with a strong belief in growing the staff and working as a team backed by strong inter-personal and communication skills
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
